Mentoring

Mentoring courses exist to help students prepare for Gospel ministry by learning from both distinguished faculty and local ministry leaders. In addition to classroom instruction, students taking Mentoring courses receive field-based guidance from local mentors, helping them apply course content to their local ministry setting.

Mentoring Cohorts

Students can form cohorts to take mentoring courses together. If your church or ministry has several èßäAV students who desire mentoring courses, they can all register for the same mentoring class and collectively meet with their mentor. Cohorts are a beneficial learning environment for students and help mentors consolidate the time requirements of mentoring students. èßäAV does not organize these cohorts, but students and mentors are encouraged to take the initiative to form and enjoy this opportunity.

Here are practical steps to form a cohort:

  1. Gather students interested in a particular course. Here is the current schedule and the mentorship cycle.
  2. Register all students for the desired course
  3. Request a qualified candidate to mentor the group
  4. Have the mentor complete the mentorship requirements
  5. Schedule your weekly mentorship meetings and complete the required coursework
